Ive had a couple of days of feeling quite shitty really, nothing has been working out well for me - a disappointing (as always) date on Saturday, hot flushes, itchy ears and - probably the main reason for my low mood - not much sewing as I just seemed to be having problems with thread, tension, breaking needles, weird looking lines and wibbly wobbly stitching. I kept giving up and walking away and then going back again to try once more. I couldnt figure out what was wrong and why the stitching didnt seem to work. Anyhow, finally, after a cup of tea and some chocolate - yes, Im convinced it was the chocolate that helped me! - I sewed a little piece that didnt get screwed up and that suddenly seemed to work; i.e. no thread breakages, no loose stitches.
When I went to London l
ast week, I did a little bit of drawing on the train and remembered how much I enjoyed it (drawing on trains, that is) . The fat man's wife kept looking at me wondering why I was eyeing up her man but all I was doing was trying to draw him with a view to later sewing him, which is what I did. And here he is - not a bad representation and maybe next time I will include more detail of the train - windows, seats etc, but this is all I have for now and I quite like it.
So here is to no more problematic and temperamental sewing and hoping for a smooth ride. haha! as if!
